Emotional Regulation For Them (and Us!)

Emotional regulation is a person's ability to effectively manage and respond to an emotional experience.  Students who can self-regulate also have better attention and problem-solving capabilities which makes for more positive and productive learning.

Learning to self-regulate is a developmental milestone and is one of the first emotion-related modeling children experience. It is important that parents model emotion-regulating skills for children to internalize and mimic. The capacity to self-regulate is a skill. All children (and adults!) can learn to competently manage their emotions.

Anxiety Strategies to Promote Confidence and Resilience

Anxiety is our most common mental health problem in children K-12 and often leads to depression. Anxiety also limits learning and impacts the ability to experience joy. 70% of adult mental health problems start in childhood and generational patterns are prevalent.

Confidence and resilience emerge when children are able to better cope with the challenges they face, express their feelings, and learn from mistakes. These critical life skills provide children with the ability to learn and grow successfully.
